Brief Route description?:

The idea of this route seems great. We (my wife and I) wanted to try out a section to find out what kind of route it is.
This section starts at the Alice Holt Forest Centre. It was in the school holidays on a nice day – prepare for the happy sound of many, many children and families having a great day out. A couple of hundred yards from the centre on the trail it’s very silent and beautiful.
This part of the route is described as undulating. I would describe it as surprisingly hilly.
My wife, on her bike, along with other cyclists were dismounting for some of the uphill sections. I managed, but only by using a degree of electrical assistance. On some sections my rear (central) wheel slipped on the gravel. A bike would be able to ride to one side and avoid the issue.
Downhill sections on a bike can be unnerving because of the gravelly nature of the trail. I was OK.
I’d like to attempt more sections of this route. It is a very beautiful area. You could have a good day out with a camera and a pair of binoculars.
